Rust Heavy Fuses and the Power Grid: A Simple Guide
In August, the Power Trip update added Player Maintained Monuments. In October, the Livestock update added more to it. Here is how it fits together.
The idea
The Power Plant is the center. Players put Heavy Fuses into its fuse boxes to bring it back to life. The more fuses go in, the more it unlocks.
What power does
Once the plant is on, you get things like:
- Power poles that give electricity for your circuits
- Better recyclers. A new red recycler at the Power Plant gives 75% at full power.
- Powered monuments: the Supermarket freezer, the Gas Station garage and car lifts, and the Water Treatment Plant's water pipes
- Airfield terminals that call more airdrops or a Chinook resupply
- The Drone Marketplace, which now needs the Power Plant running
New in October: locked power rooms
The Livestock update added locked loot rooms at 13 monuments. You open them with Heavy Fuses. The listed monuments include Airfield, Launch Site, the Missile Silo, Water Treatment and Military Tunnels.
Fuses last longer on quiet servers
Heavy Fuses now last longer when fewer people are online. At 10 players or fewer, they last 4 times as long. At 100+ players, it goes back to normal.
How to get started
- Get Heavy Fuses.
- Go to the Power Plant.
- Put them in the fuse boxes.
- Visit the monuments that now work.
