Rust's August 2026 Power Trip update, the Sanguine way

2026-08-21

Facepunch's August 2026 forced wipe shipped the Power Trip update, and it is one of the best fits a PVE server has ever gotten. The whole patch is about making the island itself do things, which is exactly our brand.

What Power Trip added

  • Heavy Fuses and an island wide power grid. Plug Heavy Fuses into fuseboxes to energize powerline poles and push electricity across the map.
  • Power Plant comes alive. A new red recycler, and an extra loot room that only opens when the plant is fed enough power.
  • Satellite crashes. A terminal at Launch Site lets you call a satellite down out of orbit and loot the wreck.
  • Smaller comforts. A powered freezer at the Abandoned Supermarket with chilled food loot, kayaks and paddles purchasable at Fishing Village, spoiled produce stacking, and high external walls finally counting toward upkeep.

What we built on top of it

A stock satellite crash burns for five minutes while everyone stands around waiting. Ours works differently:

  • The fire goes out immediately. No standing around staring at burning wreckage.
  • Military scientists guard the wreck. The crash is a fight, not a delivery. Clear the guards before you touch the crates.
  • The loot is yours. Whoever calls the satellite down owns the drop, along with their team. Nobody can snipe your crates while you fight for them.

Read the full event breakdown in Satellite crashes on Sanguine, then go call one down. Restore power at the Power Plant first: the Launch Site terminal does not work until the grid is live.
